An invitation to MARC-NAHRO Members:

Opportunities to serve on committees, boards, and in leadership positions arise from time to time. In many cases, openings allow you to develop your skills as well as advance the mission of your agency, your chapter, MARC-NAHRO and NAHRO.

Your local community and agency benefit as you access useful information, help shape housing, redevelopment, and community development policies, and learn about the latest regulations.

If you are interested in the future course and direction of the work of your agency, and want to expand your job and leadership skills, then you need to first volunteer and if appointed or elected to commit to the following:

1. Attend and participate in meetings

2. Accept committee appointments, and perform any assignments thoroughly and complete on time.

3. Keep up-to-date on developments in your areas of responsibility, prepare for meetings, and be an active group participant or leader.

4. Remain active in generating, planning, implementing, and evaluating productive strategies, programs, policies, and outcomes.

5. Seek the needed resources to advance the overall NAHRO Mission

6. Conduct your organizational activities in a civil, collegial, professional and ethical way that strengthens working relationships and moves toward consensus.
