2011 MARC-NAHRO General Membership Meeting

Hilton Hotel and Resort Atlantic City, NJ May 3, 2011

1. Opening: The luncheon meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. with a welcome by President Fred Purnell followed by Pledge of Allegiance. The Agenda was accepted with a motion by Paumen, seconded by Bender.   Motion passed

2. Minutes: Mary Paumen moved and Andrew French seconded the approval of General Membership Meeting Minutes, Wilmington, DE, May, 2010.  Motion passed.

3.  Financial Report:  Kathy Marcum moved and Mary Paumen seconded to accept the financial Report.  Motion passed.

4. Nominating and Election Committee: Fred Purnell, President, with appreciation to Gary Centinaro, Election Committee Chair, announced the names of the nominated Officers and at-large Board Members.  In keeping with the Bylaws, he declared the uncontested candidates below elected.  Terms begin at the close of the October 2011 Annual NAHRO Conference. 
The Nominating Committee presents the following Slate of Officers and five MARC members for the at-large for the MARC-NAHRO Board.  Milt Pratt moved to accept the slate, seconded by Kathy Marcum.  Motion passed.  President Purnell thanked the committee for its service.

5.  Program: Jane Vincent, Region 3 HUD Administrator, and Nola Popoola, NAHRO President, addresses the Board and General Membership.

6.  New Business: President Purnell reported that the Annual Conference in Atlantic City, NJ  was successful and thanked the Conference Committee members for their work.  He noted the Conference had a dynamic and timely program with strong attendance, and good speakers.  He recognized and commended those present for their dedicated service.
Senior Vice President, Andrew French, invited agencies to support training in the MARC Region.  He also invited all to the May 2012 Conference in MD. The other Vice Presidents were asked to submit written reports for inclusion with minutes.

7.  Outstanding Achievement Awards:  MARC presented awards of Outstanding Achievement to Agencies with excellence along the lines of the NAHRO Merit and Excellence Awards. He congratulated the Agencies for their innovative work supporting Housing and Community Development in the MARC Region.

President declared the meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
